S-5-R465 Clamps

The S-5-R465 and S-5-R465 Mini clamps are created specifically to fit the Zambelli RIB-ROOF 465, McElroy Metal’s Mirage II, Rib Roof Metal Systems’ Rib Roof and similar roof profiles.

S-5-R465 Mini

The strength of the S-5-R465 Mini is in its simple design. The clamps are uniquely designed with opposing setscrews to maximize holding strength. Go to the tools page for information and tools available for properly attaching and tensioning S-5! clamps. The round-point setscrews do not penetrate the weathering membrane of the roof, nor damage the protective Galvalume coatings of steel panels. They will not cause scoring which can lead to roof material fracture or premature corrosion, including rust, thereby voiding the roof manufacturer’s warranty.

The S-5-R465 Mini is a bit shorter than the S-5-R465, having only one setscrew on each side rather than two. The mini is the choice for attaching all kinds of rooftop accessories: signs, walkways, satellite dishes, antennas, rooftop lighting, lightning protection systems, solar arrays, exhaust stack bracing, conduit, condensate lines, mechanical equipment—just about anything!*

*S-5!® Mini clamps are not compatible with, and should not be used with, S-5! SnoRail™/SnoFence™ or ColorGard® snow retention systems.

No More Mini Bolt – Effective April 1, all S-5! mini clamps will be packaged without M8 bolts. Please check with your distributor for additional information.

Installation is Easy

Install the S-5-R465 Mini 1 1. Partially thread the setscrews into the clamp by hand. Position the clamp at the desired location along the seam with the bolt hole in the correct (upslope or downslope) orientation. Use a screwgun and the included bit tip to tighten one setscrew until flush with the seam wall. Then tighten the other setscrew until flush with the seam wall. Finally, tension and re-tension both setscrews as the seam material compresses, i.e. tighten the first setscrew, then the second; then repeat until each setscrew achieves the recommended torque. Screw tension should be verified using a calibrated torque wrench as indicated below to ensure the tool is consistently achieving the proper torque range. Once installed correctly, these clamps require no maintenance or re-inspection for the life of the roof. For critical attachment applications, tighten the included M8-1.25 X 16 mm Hex Flange Bolt to 160 inch pounds (13 foot pounds).

Please note: The above image illustrates the S-5-R465. The steps remain the same for the S-5-R465 Mini; however, there will only be two setscrews on the clamp.
