Why is SnoFence the Snow Guard Solution You Are Looking for?

Favored by architects and roof designers alike, the cylindrical shapes and sleek design of SnoFence both complements the roof and seamlessly functions with your standing seam metal roof design. This system in aluminum is suited to zinc, aluminum and coated steel roofs. The brass version is available for use on copper and lead-coated copper roofs.

SnoFence features a two-rail assembly - offering you architectural appeal and durable performance in medium-duty applications.

Looking for a single-rail system for lighter-duty and economy? See SnoRail, X-Gard 1.0, ColorGard.

Benefits:

  • Easy installation
  • Quality construction without the inconsistencies of soldered snow guards
  • Sleek architectural aesthetics
  • Available in brass for copper batten and standing seam roofs

Be sure to check out the many other benefits on the snow guard overview page.

Pricing Starts at about $11.00 for the aluminum system (please call for pricing on brass) per linear foot of assembly

Costs vary widely with size of purchase and project specifics.

  • Maximum clamp spacing is 24” (closer for heavier snow loads)
  • Be sure to check out the many other features on the snow guard overview page
  • S-5-ASF (“A” is for Architectural Aluminum) is suitable for use on vertical standing seams with ≤.40” seam width or horizontal (single-fold) dimension of ≥ .685”
  • S-5-BSF ("B" is for brass) is suitable for use:
    • On traditional double-folded copper standing seams with ≤.24″ compressed seam width
    • On traditional (batten seam) dimension of ≥.50”
    • Horizontally on single-fold copper roofing with seam dimensions ≥.65”
S-5! Snowguard

Perfect for Vertical and Horizontal Seams

SnoFence is suitable for most vertical and horizontal standing seam profiles of all metals with the exception of copper. Simply rotate the clamp 90° for use on horizontal seams.

Standing Seam

SnoFence Assembly is Available in Aluminum and Brass:

Aluminum/Stainless SnoFence Components

S-5-ASF™ Clamp

Suitable for most vertical and horizontal standing seam profiles of all metals except copper (rotating the clamp 90° for horizontal seams); seam (thickness) dimension of .40″ or less.

S-5-AE™

Used at a rate of one per 50′ of assembly and at ends of assembly in lieu of ASF clamp to “fix” SnoRod, preventing excessive lateral rod migration.

SnoRod™

⅜” diameter solid stainless steel rod inserted through S-5-ASF clamps just above panel seams for SnoFence. The second SnoRod is positioned 2” above the first by inserting through SnoPosts. Contact your S-5! distributor for pricing and details on stainless steel SnoRod. (Aluminum SnoRod is not recommended).

SnoRod Coupling

Ensures end-to-end rod alignment and continuity while allowing for thermal movement.

SnoClip™

Retards migration of snow and ice beneath crossmembers. Optional with user discretion but recommended on seam heights of 2” and greater. SnoClip is assembled to crossmember during installation.

This component is available in two sizes to accommodate various seam-height dimensions.

SnoPost™

The stainless SnoPost threads into the S-5-ASF clamp and provides for the addition of a second SnoRod about 2” above the first.

SnoPost E™

Used with the S-5-AE clamp to keep the upper SnoRod of the assembly locked into place.

Used at a rate of one per 50′ of assembly and at ends of assembly to “fix” SnoRod, preventing excessive lateral rod migration.

SnoFence Brass Works for the Following Roofs:

Spacer

Double-Folded Standing Seam (Brass)

Spacer

Single-Folded Standing Seam (Brass) S-5-BSF Only

Brass SnoFence Components

Use brass components on copper batten or standing seam roofs.

S-5-BSF

Suitable for: Fits standing seam & batten seam profiles - 16 and 24-oz. copper seam thickness.

  • Traditional double-folded copper standing seams with ≤.24″ compressed seam width
  • Traditional (batten seam) dimension of ≥.50”
  • Horizontally on single-fold copper roofing with seam dimensions ≥.65”

S-5-BE™ Clamp

Used at the rate of one per 50′ of assembly and at ends of assembly in lieu of BSF clamp to “fix” SnoRod, preventing excessive lateral rod migration.

Brass SnoRod™

⅜” diameter solid brass rod inserted through S-5-BSF clamps just above panel seams for SnoFence. The second SnoRod is positioned 2” above the first by inserting through SnoPosts. Contact your S-5! distributor for pricing and details on brass SnoRod.

SnoRod Coupling

Brass coupling ensures end-to-end rod alignment and continuity while allowing for thermal movement.

SnoPost B™

The brass SnoPost threads into the S-5-BSF clamp and provides for the addition of a second SnoRod 2” above the first.

SnoPost BE™

Used with the S-5-BE clamp to keep the upper SnoRod of the assembly locked into place.

Used at a rate of one per 50′ of assembly and at ends of assembly to “fix” SnoRod, preventing excessive lateral rod migration.

SnoClip™

SnoClip is only made in aluminum and is not compatible with brass assembly components.
